The Role

We are seeking an experienced Structural/Mechanical Project Manager to oversee projects in Northwestern BC. This role is camp-based on a rotation schedule subject to client requirements (ie. 14 on/14 off, 18 on/10 off, etc.), with a travel allowance provided. These remote project roles will be working 12 hour days.  The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing industrial construction projects, coordinating teams, and ensuring safe and efficient project execution.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • Plan, execute, and manage structural and mechanical projects from start to finish.
  • Oversee project schedules, budgets, and resources to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Ensure all commercial terms and conditions are adhered to, able to capture scope changes and impacts as they happen.
  • Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to maintain clear communication and alignment.
  • Monitor and enforce health, safety, and environmental standards on site.
  • Prepare progress reports, manage documentation, and maintain quality control standards.
  • Identify risks and implement solutions to keep projects on track.
  • Participate in project bidding and pre-construction planning as needed.
 

Skills/Education/Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Structural, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management. PMP, CCM, or equivalent project management certification is an asset.
  • Experience: Minimum 7–10 years of experience managing industrial structural or mechanical projects, preferably in oil & gas, mining, or heavy industrial sectors.
  • Strong understanding of structural and mechanical systems, fabrication, and construction methods.
  • Proficiency with project management software (MS Project, Primavera P6, or similar).
  • Proficiency with Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive, etc.) for project documentation, reporting, and collaboration.
  • Knowledge of quality management systems, codes, and standards (CSA, ASME, API, etc.).
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong analytical abilities, with experience in budgeting, cost control, and risk management.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for liaising with multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a camp environment on a 14/14 rotation and adapt to remote work conditions.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.
  • Safety-focused mindset with proven experience in implementing HSE programs.
  • Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams and subcontractor management.
  • Familiarity with industrial inspection and quality assurance processes.
  • Must be legally eligible to to work in Canada
