The Role

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Hotline Dig Excavator Operator to support our Midstream client in Conklin, AB. 

Shift: 10 and 4, 10 hours per day

Start Date: May 28, 2026

This project is estimated to be 6 weeks in duration. 

 

Compensation/Benefits
•    Wages range based on experience
•    Overtime at 1.5 x after 8 hours per day
•    10% vacation and stat pay on all regular hours worked
•    Benefits 50/50 split after 90 days with the company
 

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Ability to safety operate excavator
  • Work cooperatively with crew to accomplish tasks
  • Consistently monitor and maintain compliance with safety policies procedures and regulations
  • Ensure a safe team environment
  • Perform daily routine maintenance on machine including lubrication and monitor needed repairs/service requirements
  • Operate equipment while maintaining proper awareness of surroundings
  • Understand and complete pre and post safety checks
  • Compliance with all safety regulations
  • Various other duties assigned
 

Qualifications

  • 5+ years previous experience operating an excavator in an industrial construction setting 
  • Must have proven  experience working around live utilities and hot line digs 
  • Ability to operate and maintain equipment in a safe and efficient manner
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination
  • Strong communication skills
  • Valid Ground Disturbance ticket
  • Familiarity with GPS and other tracking devices 
  • Drivers license with a clean drivers abstract
  • Knowledge of relevant safety regulations and procedures 
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
