The Role

We are looking for an experienced CWB Rig Welder to join our team for a project based near Dawson Creek, BC. We are looking for locals in the area. There is no LOA or camp. 

Compensation

• Competitive hourly rate — negotiable, based on experience and certification level.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality welding in accordance with project specifications and applicable codes.
• Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings, and welding procedures.
• Set up, operate, and maintain rig welding equipment safely and efficiently.
• Conduct welds that meet or exceed quality standards with minimal rework.
• Collaborate with other trades and crew members to ensure work is completed safely and on schedule.
• Identify hazards and comply with all company safety policies and legislative requirements.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

Education/Skills/Experience

• Valid Journeyman Welder ticket (Red Seal preferred).
• Valid CWB  (current and in good standing).
• Experience in industrial construction or live plant environments is an asset.
• Proven experience operating and maintaining rig welding equipment
• Profitcent in SMAW, GTAW, FCAW welding processes
• Valid drivers license and reliable transportation
• Must have the following safety tickets: WHMIS 2015, CSTS 2020 (or equivalent), H2S Alive
• First Aid is an asset 
• Strong commitment to safety, quality and teamwork
• Capable of working in various weather conditions
• Strong troubleshooting, layout, and fitting skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Must be able to to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada 
• Must be local to Dawson Creek
