The Role

We are currently recruiting for experienced Journeyman Scaffolder to join our team at Kearl Oil Sands, a major oil sands site in Northern Alberta. The successful candidates will work in a safety-first environment on a 14/14 rotation. Camp accommodations and meals provided. Charter flights provided from designated hubs in Edmonton and Calgary with flight allowances based on the province located. 

This project is 6 months in duration and will be starting at the beginning of March.

  • CLAC hourly wages

  • 10% vacation and stat holiday pay on regular earnings
  • OT at 1.5 after 8 hours per day
 

Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • Safely and efficiently constructing and taking down various types of scaffolding systems, including frame, tube-and-coupler, and system scaffolding.
  • Loading, unloading, and transporting scaffolding materials to and from work areas.
  • Regularly checking erected scaffolds for structural integrity, adherence to safety regulations, and proper bracing before, during, and after use.
  • Interpreting technical drawings and specifications to determine the correct scaffolding setup for a project.
  • Comfortably and safely working on elevated platforms and structures.
  • Inspecting, cleaning, and storing scaffolding components and tools.
 

Skills/Education/Qualifications

  • Registered Journeyman Scaffolder certification 
  • Valid safety tickets (Fall Protection, Confined Space, AWP, H2S Alive, First Aid)
  • Previous experience working as a scaffolder, particularly in heavy industrial environments 
  • The ability to lift heavy materials, climb, and work at heights for extended periods.
  • Expertise in various scaffolding types (e.g., frame, tube-and-coupler, system scaffolding) and their proper construction and dismantling.
  • The ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications for complex scaffold structures.
  • A strong commitment to adhering to all safety regulations and procedures.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a construction crew.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test 
  • Must be willing to complete a criminal background check
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
