About The Role 

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Cost Controller to support our project management team. In this role, you will be essential in ensuring the financial health of our projects by providing meticulous cost tracking, accurate forecasting, and comprehensive project reporting. You will serve as a key partner to the Project Manager, providing the data-driven insights necessary to maintain budget integrity throughout the project lifecycle.

What You Will Be Doing 

  • Implement and maintain company project controls programs, procedures, and standards to ensure consistency across the organization.
  • Manage project cost tracking, including the preparation and submission of monthly revenue and cost accruals to support project accounting.
  • Collaborate closely with Project Managers to adjust and accurately report forecasted costs and manage the commercial aspects of the change management process.
  • Maintain and update portfolio earned value logs, proactively reporting on any deviances from established budgets.
  • Monitor and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for individual projects and the overall portfolio.
  • Provide critical cost data and insights to the Project Management Team during the creation of estimates for new projects.
  • Ensure the accurate and timely distribution of all project-related financial correspondence and reports.

What We Are Looking For 

  • A minimum of 5 years of direct experience in project controls or cost control is required.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas and data validation) is essential.
  • Proven experience with project management and financial software, such as SAP, Primavera (P6), or similar industry tools.
  • Strong analytical skills with a specific focus on project accounting and financial oversight.
  • A post-secondary degree or diploma in Business Administration, Finance, or a related technical field is preferred.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
  • Must have a valid drivers license, a clean drivers abstract and reliable transportation to get to and from site
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
