The Role

We are looking for a motivated Second Year Pipefitter Apprentice to join our team for the upcoming turnaround at the CNRL Horizon, IPL Pioneer 2 Facility. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on industrial experience and work alongside experienced tradespeople in a safety-focused environment.

  • Shift: 10/4 schedule (switching to 6/1 for 3 weeks, then back to 10/4).
  • Hours: 10 hours/day for pre/post turnaround; 12 hours/day during execution.
  • Support: LOA is provided.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Assisting Journeymen with daily pipefitting installation and maintenance tasks.
  • Learning to read and interpret piping drawings, isometrics, and P&IDs.
  • Measuring, cutting, and preparing materials under supervision.
  • Participating in safe bolt-up procedures and supporting hydro/pneumatic testing.
  • Actively participating in toolbox meetings and identifying site hazards.
  • Demonstrating a strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and your own professional growth.

What You Bring

  • Registered 2nd Year Apprentice Pipefitter/Steamfitter.
  • Previous industrial construction experience (mining, oil & gas, heavy industrial) is a strong asset.
  • A "safety-first" mindset and the ability to work in a physically demanding environment (climbing, lifting, and working outdoors).
  • Valid safety tickets: H2S Alive, WHMIS 2015, and CSTS-2020 (or equivalent).
  • Standard First Aid is considered an asset.
  • Valid driver’s license and a clean abstract and reliable transportation to travel to Fort McMurray. No charter flights or camp provided.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada and able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test.
