The Role

We are gearing up for exciting oil sands projects starting early 2026 and we are looking for experienced Mechanical Superintendents to join our team! 

If you’re a driven leader with a strong background in mechanical construction and want to be part of major industrial work in the oil sands, this is your opportunity to take charge of a high-performing crew and deliver exceptional results.

Shift: Project-based rotation | Camp & flights provided

Job Duties /Responsibilities

  • Communicate with the team through daily safety meetings
  • Supervise crew and subcontractor tasks
  • Maintain regular contact with client representatives on contract issues, schedule, delivery and technical issues
  • Drive cost-effective strategies in the field
  • Hire and assign construction workers to each project scope
  • Participate in site safety toolbox meetings
  • Coordinate construction services and activities
  • Maintain construction schedule and make changes as necessary to ensure milestones are met
  • Assist with estimates for project scope of work, including labor, supplies, materials and other costs
  • Execute work in line with federal, provincial and client and company quality standards, codes and safety regulations.
  • Assist Construction Manager on daily reports, schedules and manpower
 

Experience/Skills/Qualifications 

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • PMP (Project Management Professional)
  • Minimum of 7 + years in mechanical construction, industrial maintenance or similar fields
  • At least 2-5 years in a supervisory or leadership role
  • Familiarity with reading blueprints, schematics and technical drawings
  • Good computer skills required. e.g Bluebeam, Excel,  Gmail, Google Drive, google calendar. We are a Google based company.
  • A demonstrated background in team leadership with a focus on worksite safety.
  • Strong construction knowledge to plan and forecast manpower, material and subcontractors.
  • Highly effective client relations, conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
  • Able to communicate clearly and effectively with various stakeholders.
  • A natural leader and mentor that isn’t afraid to get on the tools when needed to train and lead by example.
  • Other beneficial certificates (H2S Alive, First Aid, Confined Space)
  • Valid drivers license with a clean drivers abstract
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
